Our goal is to share the music that Memphis is known for around the globe.
Memphis Mix is returning to Poland and partnering with local musicians to perform blues, jazz, and rock & roll in front of an international audience across the country, from the seaside in the North to the mountains in the South.
Education is the main focus of the Memphis in Poland Festival.
Memphis Mix, comprised of University of Memphis professors and renown local artists, will conduct a number of master classes with talented students throughout the course of the festival. In addition, the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis will be sending its Memphis Bicentennial Exhibit to Sopot and Bielsko-Biała, as well as organizing a series of lectures in Sopot. The festival also offers an opportunity for participants of American and other descents to learn about and immerse in Polish culture, history, and geography.
Have you ever heard of a Memphis themed event that didn't have BBQ?
Neither have we ;)
Chef Edward Nowakowski, former Director of the American Culinary Federation Memphis Chapter, is coming back for the second edition of the festival to prepare and to share Memphis's best barbecue recipes. Yum!
